With AD DS 2008, Microsoft has introduced a small but important feature to prevent accidental AD object deletion. This is not a solution to recover from disaster, but it is to prevent a disaster. In every Active Directory object under the Object tab, there is small checkbox to enable this feature. This can be enabled when we create objects using PowerShell. If it's not PowerShell, it still can enable using the Object properties window at any time. When creating OU using GUI, it allows users to enable this option and that's the only object allowed to do so during the setup:
