WS-Trust

This is part of many the WS* standards including WS-Security, WS-Federation, and the WS-Security policy. WS stands for Web Services. WS-Trust defines protocols used in requesting and issuing security token by WS-Security. Security Token Service (STS) is a big feature in WS-Trust, and it can be uses to convert locally issued security tokens into another security token formats, which can be understood by the application. It also can convert incoming security tokens into supported token formats.
