Creating virtual server in Azure in same virtual network

In the beginning of the previous section, we created a Azure virtual network and associated Azure AD with it. In order to add a server to the same managed domain, it needs to be part of the same virtual network. Any virtual network created using the Azure classic portal is only available for servers created using the same portal.

Therefore, we need to use the Azure classic portal to create our virtual machine:

  1. Log in to the Azure classic portal as global administrator (https://manage.windowsazure.com).
  2. Go to New | Compute | Virtual Machine | From Gallery (because using this option, we can define the advanced options).
