What’s New in Exchange Server 2007

Exchange Server 2007 provides a number of new features and enhancements to existing features in the areas of reliability, management, and security. This section takes a look at the important enhancements to Exchange Server 2007.

Active Directory Site Routing

Previous versions of Exchange required an extra layer of routing configuration in the form of routing groups to determine how servers communicated with one another and how clients communicated with servers. Exchange Server 2007 does away with routing groups, instead building on the site topology of Active Directory itself. Exchange Server 2007 uses Active Directory sites to determine how servers communicate.
