It would take an entire book to discuss in depth all the extra counters installed with Exchange Server 2007 and how they can be combined to give you a particular type of report. Instead, the focus here is on the more important counters and with a few suggestions for using them. The SMTP, Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), and Unified Messaging counters are covered. If some of the discussion of the SMTP protocols is unfamiliar to you, refer to Chapter 25, where this protocol is discussed in depth. Unified Messaging is covered in Chapter 14.
