Local Continuous Replication

Local continuous replication (LCR) allows you to take a single Exchange server and replicate a copy of a storage group onto a secondary disk set using the concepts explained previously. The database is copied over the secondary passive storage group; the logs are shipped over as they complete their transactions with the primary database; and they are replayed for the passive copy (as shown in Figure 9-1). In the event of a disk failure, a manual switch will have you up and running in no time with a secondary copy of the data.
