Move Internet Mail to Exchange Server 2007

In the previous chapter, you learned how to create an SMTP connector in your legacy Exchange organization in order to avoid breaking outbound Internet e-mail after the introduction of the Exchange Server 2007 routing group connector.

Unless you have already created an Internet-facing SMTP connector in your Exchange Server 2007 organization, outgoing Internet mail that originates from mailboxes in the new Exchange Server 2007 organization has no way to exit the organization. As a part of your transition process, and before you move mailboxes from the legacy Exchange organization, you must create an SMTP send connector in your new Exchange Server 2007 organization.
