Windows Mail and Microsoft Outlook Express

In versions of Windows prior to Windows Vista, Outlook Express, shown in Figure 22-2, provides a subset of the standard Outlook product. In Windows Vista, Outlook Express is replaced by Windows Mail (which is essentially an updated and renamed Outlook Express). This section discusses Windows Mail, but the discussion applies equally to Outlook Express.

Windows Mail comes built in to Windows Vista. It is the default e-mail reader for Windows Vista unless Outlook or another e-mail client is installed.
