Managing Storage Groups

As was the case with previous versions of Exchange, Exchange Server 2007 provides full management capability for dealing with storage groups, including creating, modifying, and deleting these store containers. In Exchange Server 2007, storage groups are a function of the Mailbox Role Server and managed using either the Exchange Management Console or the Exchange Management Shell. In this section, you learn how to manage storage groups.

Creating Storage Groups

Before you create a new storage group, make sure you have physical disk space available that corresponds to your Exchange storage master plan. To create a storage group, follow these steps:
