This chapter described how to install Exchange Server 2007. It discussed how to prepare your Windows server for the installation, including how to verify that the hardware on the server meets requirements for installing Exchange Server 2007 in the desired configuration. It then took you step by step through the installation process and described how to verify the installation after the setup routine is finished. Of course, the new server, single-server scenario focused on in this chapter is not necessarily the same scenario you face. In the next chapters, you learn how to make Exchange Server 2007 work with earlier versions of Exchange and how to migrate to a 100 percent Exchange Server 2007-based messaging system.
