Enabling Unified Messaging for Individual Mailboxes

After you create the necessary Unified Messaging objects and associate a Unified Messaging server with a dial plan, and use your vendor’s instructions to make sure that connectivity is working, you can start enabling Unified Messaging on individual mailboxes. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Exchange Management Console.

  2. Choose Recipient Configuration and then choose Mailbox.

  3. In the Action pane, select the user you want to enable for Unified Messaging.

  4. From the Actions pane, select the Enable Unified Messaging option. This starts a one-page wizard (see Figure 14-17) on which you must configure user-related messaging options.
