So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This text deals with risk and its management. Since the last edition of the text appeared, several tragedies have occurred that clearly demonstrate the deadly presence of risk in our society. A suicide bomber entered a market near Baghdad, detonated a bomb, and killed 11 people. Malaysia Flight 360 mysteriously disappeared with 239 passengers aboard, causing an enormous amount of pain and suffering to the surviving families. A deadly earthquake struck Nepal, a low-income country in Asia, which killed more than 8,600 people and destroyed or damaged tens of thousands of houses.
