A key distinction can now be made between leading and managing; leader-
ship focuses more on the people dimension as a means to achieving
outcomes. It seeks to attract employees to the organisation’s goals, in a
meaningful way, so that the work is done well not just because they have
to do it, but in completing the work to a high standard employees feel they
are furthering their own goals. Is it easy to achieve this? Of course not and
nobody said it was going to be easy, but you will find that the results are
