I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Goal 5 – Change, but stay true
to yourself
This final goal is a general consideration which applies to all first-time
leaders. Whilst it is essential that you address your personal areas for
improvement (and you will need to change certain aspects of your behav-
iour as a leader), it is also imperative that you stamp your own personality
on the role. We all adopt a work persona to some degree, but you cannot
and should not try to become
something you are not. Remember,
becoming a leader means adopting
a new mindset, not a new person-
ality.
