
Openness and honesty
People expect honesty from those who lead them and your team will be no
different with you. However, the realities of work-life will mean that on
occasion, you may not be in a position to give them the full picture. But
you should at least be willing to be forthright and upfront with them when
you can. You already know that there will be times when you have to
project an image of supporting a decision that you may not agree with, but
this does not mean you are being dishonest; it’s just a fact of life as a
leader.
