The term “scrubbing” comes from the world of video editing, and it basically means that once a video is playing, you can grab the progress bar’s slider knob and quickly move (scrub) it forward or backward through a video’s timeline, seeing the video in fast speed as you move in either direction. The iPhone has this too, but your iPhone’s scrubbing isn’t just for video—you can scrub forward/backward through a song, podcast, audiobook, music video, etc., and you can not only go fast, but can also go very slowly and precisely if you want.
