I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Filtering DFW rules from the interactive analytics menu
The vRealize Log Insight interactive analytics feature is useful to analyze and filter DFW rules. In this example, we will create a DFW rule, set it to log, and view it on the vRealize Log Insight interactive analytics:
- Log in to the vSphere Web Client, create a DFW rule, and enable logging on that rule. In this example, we created a DFW rule to block ICMP from the fin-web-01a VM to the hr-web-01a VM:
- On the DFW Rule action, we will also put a ICMP_BLOCK_TAG tag, so check whether this tag can be viewed in the interactive analysis menu:
