Flow Monitoring
NSX Manager provides a feature called Flow Monitoring that provides traffic analysis of flows from protected virtual machines. Once you enable Flow Monitoring, it will provide an output, which shows the data that the virtual machines exchange and the corresponding protocol/port information.
The data produced will show ARP, ICMP, TCP, and UDP protocol information, with TCP and UDP flow information viewable from the live monitor. The live monitor allows you to select a vNIC from a virtual machine in real time and specify files to exclude flows from; you can view the resulting flow information in the flow-monitoring dashboard in vSphere Web Client.
