So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Granting REST API access to a CLI user account
The user john that was created in the previous steps can log into the NSX Manager CLI and NSX Manager web interface UI. However, john still does not have access to the NSX plugin in the vSphere web client or REST API calls. Performing a REST API call will give a 403 Forbidden error saying that the user does not have any role in NSX Manager:
