How it works...

The NSX Edge configuration is stored in the NSX Manager; the NSX Edges Menu should list all the Edge Gateways available in the NSX Manager database.

Upon clicking Redeploy, NSX will deploy a new NSX Edge from an OVF template with a different name. In the following screenshot, the new Edge is edge-1-jobdata-11352-0. The new Edge will be powered on and configured according to what is stored in the NSX Manager.

Once the new Edge is ready, the existing Edge will be deleted if it exists (in the following screenshot, Perimeter-Gateway-01-0 is shutdown then deleted), and the new Edge VM name will be renamed to the correct name Edge name, which is Perimeter_Gateway-01-0:
