I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
NSX Manager
The NSX Manager virtual machine appliance retains log data locally on the appliance itself. This log data contains logs from the following:
- Logical switches
- Logical routers
- Distributed Firewalls
- Edge Service Gateways
The log file as described in the previous figure is called vsm.log ,and is located in the /home/secureall/secureall/logs. NSX Manager rotates logs once they reach a size of 200 MB, and then the file is compressed and stored. A maximum of 10 compressed files are kept. For long-term storage of log data, it is recommended to send log files to a syslog repository.
