Verifying vShield Stateful Firewall (vsfwd) Status and Connection

To make sure that DFW is running and communicating properly, verify the vsfwd process via the ESXi host console:

1. To verify that the DFW is running on the ESXi hosts, SSH onto an ESXi host.

2. Verify the vsfwd process is in a running state using the following command:

/etc/init.d/vShield-Stateful-Firewall status

There are four usages of the vShield-Stateful-Firewall command:

{ start | stop | status | restart }

3. Verify that vsfwd is running using the following command:

    ps | grep vsfwd
