with 15 trials each. Each picture was presented for 3 seconds. In all trials, a set of
five images from the same affective category was presented. After one trial, subjects
were asked to rate the respective picture on three categories, affective valence and
arousal through the SAM (Lang, Bradley & Cuthbert, 2008). The SAM consists of 2
scales, valence and arousal, ranging from 1 to 9 with higher values representing
more positive valence (pleasureness) and higher arousal (Figure 4). The order of
trials was randomized.
