When we think of the richness of human interaction it is difficult to imagine
anything like that richness in our interactions with software or hardware (robotic)
agents.
But stopping there is a mistake on two counts.
First, some of the research constrains users such that all their interactions are
impoverished. In other words, the “richness” that is evident to participants when
interacting with human team-mates seems at least partly a richness that the
participants bring to the experience.

such richness being present when interacting
