Part II consists of Chapters 7 through 12 and covers how to learn Lean
production and, especially, how to learn Lean management. The approaches to
each are nearly identical. Nine attributes are described for leading a Lean con-
version project and the important role played by these attributes in slightly—but
importantly—different forms when leading an ongoing Lean production area.
New in this edition, Chapter 8 distinguishes between learning Lean
(production and management) as an apprentice Lean practitioner and
