Name
EXPONDIST
Synopsis
Use EXPONDIST to find the probabilities for the exponential distribution. This function works well for finding the probability that events occurred within a specific amount of time under certain restrictive assumptions.
To Calculate
=EXPONDIST(X,Lambda,Cumulative)
All arguments are required for this function.
-
X Indicates a positive numeric value that indicates the value of the function.
-
Lambda Indicates a positive numeric value that specifies a parameter of the function.
Example
Figure 15-12 illustrates how EXPONDIST is used to
determine the exponential distribution. You will notice that the
values returned by changing the Cumulative
argument from TRUE to FALSE add
up to approximately a factor of 10.
