Synopsis
Provides the ability to modify the list of typing mistakes that Excel automatically corrects in your document. You can also select the other type of corrections that Excel makes to your worksheets, such as whether it should allow the first two letters of a word to be capitalized. When you select this option the AutoCorrect dialog displays as shown in Figure 8-2.

Select the AutoCorrect options that you want to be used as you work on your workbooks in Excel. These settings affect all workbooks that you edit. If you select the “Replace text as you type” checkbox you can specify the corrections that you want Excel to make as you type. For example, if you tend to type the word “the” as “teh” you can add that to the list.
If you select the first two options, “Correct TWo INitial CApitals” and “Capitalize first letter of sentence” you can specify exceptions to those settings by selecting the Exceptions button. For example, if you were to add the abbreviation “approx.” to a sentence on your worksheet, you would not want the next word to be capitalized, so it is listed as one of the exceptions on the AutoCorrect Exceptions dialog. You can add options to the list that displays on both tabs by typing the desired text and selecting the Add button.
