Of course, the Observer pattern isn't a perfect solution. There is no perfect solution, if there was, this would be a very short book. As with every pattern, it is important to learn how to use it but also how not to use it. It is equally as important to learn when to use a pattern as it is to learn when not to use a pattern.

The Observer pattern has some things that you need to look out for when using it. The goal of all patterns is to simplify the development cycle. However, if a pattern isn't fully understood, lots of time can be wasted debugging layers and layers of code that were meant to save time.
