Sometimes in the business world, our customers will come to us fully prepared to communicate and work through what they need to see realized. In some kind of businesses, that’s actually the case most of the time. And if that’s the kind of shop you’re in, feel free to ignore the advice in this chapter. It’s been shaped to get you to where you already are (and maybe not even that far). In most business organizations, it’s probably safe to say that customers come to IT shops not as prepared to work through requirements as the technology developers would like.
