Motion picture production plans are detailed documents that can easily run 100 pages or more. The bulk of the plan contains the schedule and the budget. The scopes of both the schedule and the budget are derived from the strip board, or script breakdown. Schedule, budget, and strip board then become intricately linked. Guesstimates are kept to a minimum; rather, line by line, time and expense items can be directly traced to pages in the script. That level of detail can be transferred into the world of IT through Lesson 8: Establish budgets and schedules that tie directly to the WBS.
