Moving Toward Improvement
Thus far in this chapter, we’ve seen the problems that can arise when changes to a project go unchecked. In the motion picture industry, these changes stem from reinterpretation of the script: new camera moves, new line readings, new locations or sets, different props, and so on. In the technology industries, these changes stem from reanalysis of the requirements: additions of new functionality, modifications to feature sets, removal of obsolete or un-needed components. In both industries, if such change, necessary though it may be, is poorly monitored or managed, less than optimal outcomes can be expected.
