Form and format in the IT world are often found only in document templates. The idea that a production system would be intentionally structured to constrain the size of projects would no doubt strike many managers as antithetical. But that is precisely the recommendation in this chapter. Evidently, more and more IT managers are seeing value in this because lately, more and more IT shops, as my own observations indicate, are adopting some of the tenets and principles of the iterative Agile (and similar) development methods.
