It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

As soon as a picture starts shooting, the editors start editing. They’re cutting for two reasons: first, to make sure that what’s been shot fits together before the current sets are struck, and second, to make sure that the director is getting the right kinds of coverage and performances needed to tell the story in the best way possible.
