Like the rest of WAS, the security subsystem is fully traced. To trace WAS security, enable tracing of these packages: com.ibm.ws.security.* and com.ibm.websphere.security.*.

Generally speaking, unless the security problem you are experiencing is related to server startup, it is best to start an application server, let it stabilize, and then enable dynamic tracing of security. Then run your test and observe the trace output.

It is also often useful to determine how WAS is managing the LTPA cookie or token. You should enable your web browser to “warn me about cookies.” Once you do this, your browser will inform you when WAS sends back an LTPA token.
