We’re still getting to know Generation Y as the top of the age group enters adulthood. They clearly have their own ideas and interests, things they are passionate about, and other things that don’t interest them at all. They have grown up in an age of rampant technology; they are comfortable with and easily adaptable to all kinds of new gadgetry. Most important, we know that they dwarf the much smaller Generation X and are rapidly passing the Baby Boomers’ population figures. While Generation Y is bigger than the Boomers in sheer numbers, they cannot outspend the Boomers until they have reached the Boomers’ current income bracket.
