Let’s begin with food. I think supermarket sales should be fine, but the way food is packaged will have to change. Generation Y is the emerging market for food stores. This generation doesn’t know how to cook and probably won’t learn. As a result, prepared foods will reach new levels of quality, light-years above TV dinners. Prepared entrees and precooked foods are going to need to be packaged better. Whole Foods is on the right track as far as wholesome ingredients are concerned, and its prepared entrees are excellent.
