Credit card debt is evidence of terminal math deprivation. I recently paid off all our credit cards after I refinanced my house and was dumbstruck when I discovered that one lender was charging us 28 percent interest. Is there anyone in the world making that kind of return with the possible exception of a loan shark? The only thing that credit card companies don’t do is break your knees when your payment is late.
