Dealing with the Common Cold
Vitamin D production drops in the winter in part because we spend more time indoors, but that’s also why viruses and colds spread like wildfire during those same months. Being indoors increases our contact with people who may carry contagious viruses like the common cold.
There is no cure for the common cold, and there isn’t even conclusive evidence to suggest that echinacea, zinc, vitamin C, or any other remedy can shorten the duration of being sick. There is mixed evidence regarding these compounds, and a deficiency can weaken your immune system, but those are extreme cases.
