Healthy workers are good workers, and regardless of whether you’re an employer, a manager, or just a another member of the team, having healthy coworkers can make your job better. That’s why employees at companies with effective wellness programs are less likely to quit.

A study by Towers Watson and the National Business Group on Health found that companies with wellness programs like the one at SAS experience significantly lower rates of voluntary attrition. SAS reported voluntary turnover of just four percent after introducing its program.[185] That’s remarkably low when compared to the average turnover rate of twenty-five to thirty-three percent at other Fortune 500 software companies.[186]
