How to be a better listener

Most of us are poor listeners … ‘Sorry, did you say something?’ I said, most of us are poor listeners! We are so concerned with what we are going to ask or say that we ignore or miss a lot of what the other person says. I suspect that many of the people who read this book will have received some guidelines, training or coaching in ‘talking to groups’ at some time in their career. You wouldn’t be reading this if your teachers hadn’t taught you how to read and write. But I wonder how many readers have been trained in listening skills – even though it’s the communication skill that you use more than any other.
