Eclipse is the integrated development environment where you will do most of your Android development. The 64-bit version of Eclipse is appropriate for most Mac users. The standard version is appropriate for Android development.
1. Browse to http://www.eclipse.org/downloads.
2. Select the Eclipse Standard 4.3 64-bit version to download the installer.
3. Expand the archive file, and move the created Eclipse folder to your Applications folder.
4. Launch the Eclipse.app file; it will prompt you for a workspace. Use /Users/<your username>/Documents/learningandroid.
5. Click OK, and the Eclipse IDE will start.
6. Check that the Eclipse IDE is using the correct JDK by selecting Eclipse > Preferences ...
