Improving Battery Life
Because you have followed the activity lifecycle carefully and have moved the tasks to a service, you have already kept battery usage to a reasonable minimum. However, there is no escaping the fact that when users have the screen on or the GPS running, the device will consume power from the battery. It is possible, however, to fine-tune the power usage.
To get a rough idea of what consumes the most power on your device, go to Settings and Battery. At that point you will be shown a graph of the battery charge. Below this graph is a list of applications, along with the power consumption of things like the screen, the Android OS, and the cell radio.
