Testing Services

As well as testing Android activities, you can test Android services. Services, unlike applications, can be hard to test without unit tests. Services, as you explored in Chapter 9, have no visible UI and they can run for a long periods.

Let’s create some tests to test the TimerService class.

1. Create a new class named TimerServiceTests that extends ServiceTestCase. Modify the extend to be ServiceTestCase<TimerService>. Add a constructor that calls the parent class, passing the TimerService class as a parameter (see Listing 10.38).
