So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Understanding the Android Manifest File
The Android manifest file (AndroidManifest.xml in the project root directory) contains important information about your application. Every Android application must have a manifest file. The manifest file names the Java package for the application and describes all the app components, including the activities. It also describes any additional libraries and the minimum level of the Android API. The manifest file also sets permissions for the application to interact with other components. Listing 3.6 shows the Android manifest file.
