The Android SDK is the first of the tools required for Android development. It contains the API libraries and tools necessary to build, test, and debug apps for Android. You use the SDK Manager to update these tools and APIs when a new version of the platform is released.
Now proceed with the installation.
1. Browse to http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html.
2. Select USE AN EXISTING IDE, and download the Android SDK by clicking on Download the SDK Tools for MAC button.
3. Accept the license agreement and expand the downloaded archive file to create a folder called android-sdk-macosx.
4. Move this folder to /Users/<user name>/android-sdk-macosx.
