Finding the Device’s Location
Devices have several ways of finding out where they are.
Global Positioning System (GPS): This pinpoints your device location by using a worldwide system of satellites. Theoretically, GPS can be accurate to within 5–10 meters, but it’s more like 10–100 meters in typical usage conditions.
Nearest cell tower: This determines your position from the cell tower your device is connected to. It is fairly inaccurate compared with GPS and will give your location in the 500–1,000 meter range in urban areas and 1,000–2,000 meters ...
