I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Dictionary override
The dictionary override feature allows us to change the configuration of inherited fields in an extended table. We can define dictionary override on any table from which we have extended another table. The dictionary override must be defined in the same scope in which the extended table exists. In our Travel Booking Application, the Booking Request table extends from the Task table that is in the Global scope. However, we will define the dictionary override in the Travel Booking Application scope.
- Open the System Definition | Dictionary module and open the entry for the state field in the task table by clicking on the info icon against the record, as shown in the following screenshot:
