When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
GlideUser
The GlideUser class contains methods and properties that can be used to retrieve session information related to the currently logged-in user and user roles. Similar to GlideForm, there is no need to create an explicit object of the GlideUser class. The g_user global object can be used to retrieve user session information in client scripts.
The following are some examples of GlideUser:
- The g_user.userName property can be used to retrieve the username of the currently logged-in user
- The g_user.userID property can be used to retrieve the sys_id of the currently logged-in user
- The booleang_user.hasRole method can be used to check whether the user has a specified role. It will return true if the user has the role and vice versa
- g_user.hasRole('admin')// ...
