Workflow basics
Workflows are one of the most important features available in the ServiceNow platform. They can be used to perform server-side automation visually without having to write much code. They also offer a way to monitor running workflow context and activities. A workflow executes only when it is in published state. The workflow starts in draft (unpublished) state and once published cannot be edited unless we manually check out the workflow. Workflows have turned out to be the bread and butter of ServiceNow developers and are implemented in almost all custom applications due to their innovative graphical interface and ease of monitoring.
