It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Understanding BIOS
BIOS (see Figure 11.10) is a program that controls the functionality of the server hardware components. Alongside this, the other important tasks of BIOS include identifying and configuring the hardware in a server and identifying the boot devices:

Over time, BIOS was eventually replaced by the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). We will learn more about this next.
